Pet of the Week: Smithers

Smithers has been waiting at the Dane County Humane Society for a new home since August 2008! He’s a beautiful cat with mostly white fur and green eyes. Smithers is a little pudgy but very playful. Why has this pretty boy waiting for so long? Meet him today!

Pet of the Week: Tubby

Tubby is, well, a bit tubby (not uncommon in Wisconsin). This black lab is an older guy but he has lots of energy. A long walk or run won’t tire him out. Do you need a workout buddy? Tubby is your perfect partner!

Snake Used as Jump Rope

This is a story out of Pennsylvania but worth mentioning. A 17-year-old student swung a classroom snake like a lasso and twirled it like a jump rope. The albino corn snake survived and is being treated by vets.

This is a disgusting animal cruelty story, but also typical of a repeat offender being allowed to terrorize a school. The delightful youth has a history of throwing pencils, fighting, pushing kids, chasing girls into bathrooms and stealing. He has been suspended for 88 days in his school career. No child left behind my ass… this kid needs to be left behind in a prison before he abuses more animals and people.

Pet of the Week: Champ

Champ is 16 lbs. of cuddly tabby. This orange long-haired cat is looking for someone that wants big hugs from a friendly cat. Can you handle the Champ? Meet him in Brookfield at the Elmbrook Humane Society.
